A 23-year-old man named Robert Jimenez was intentionally hit and killed by a 28-year-old female driver in the South Bronx on Saturday afternoon. The man was riding a scooter when he was struck by the woman who was driving a Honda Civic. Photos from the scene showed the red vehicle with its front violently smashed in and the front right tire turned on its side. Jimenez was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he was declared dead, and the female driver was taken into custody with pelvic injuries. Her connection to Jimenez or why she intentionally hit him is unclear. Charges were still pending as of 11 p.m. on Saturday night.
