LSU continues to make waves on the recruiting trail, with offensive line coach Brad Davis securing a commitment from highly sought-after interior offensive lineman Jalan Chapman. Chapman, a three-star prospect from New Orleans, chose the Tigers over top programs like Alabama, USC, Georgia, and Tennessee. Standing at 6-foot-3, 270 pounds, Chapman is expected to play center for LSU once he arrives on campus in two years.
Chapman gained national attention after an impressive sophomore season at Warren Easton High School, where he earned a starting spot as a freshman. His leadership and experience on the offensive line have been invaluable to the team, according to his coach Jerry Phillips.
Chapman’s commitment adds to LSU’s already impressive 2026 recruiting class, which includes fellow Louisiana natives Richard Anderson and Jakai Anderson. Anderson, a defensive lineman from Edna Karr, and Jakai Anderson, a wide receiver from McDonough 35, both chose LSU over a competitive field of offers.
LSU’s recruiting success under Brian Kelly and Brad Davis has been highlighted by securing commitments from top talent in their home state. The Tigers’ 2026 class is shaping up to be a strong one, with several key additions from Louisiana. The program’s ability to keep local talent at home bodes well for the team’s future success.
