A fatal crash in Terrytown, Louisiana claimed the life of 36-year-old Frank Mayfield from Gretna on Sunday morning, according to Louisiana State Police Troop B. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. when Mayfield was driving a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja Motorcycle at a high speed north on LA 428 approaching Northbrook Drive. At the same time, a 2006 Toyota Tundra pickup truck was exiting a private driveway onto the intersection to turn left, resulting in Mayfield crashing into the driver’s side of the Toyota. Mayfield, who was not wearing a helmet approved by the Department of Transportation, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The driver of the Toyota was uninjured and no alcohol was detected in their breath sample. This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety precautions while on the road.
