A recent study by Forbes has ranked states based on the prevalence of aggressive driving behaviors among residents. California topped the list, with high percentages of drivers facing behaviors like being cut off, yelled at, or tailgated. Missouri and Utah followed closely behind. Louisiana was ranked as having some of the worst drivers in the US as well, with high rates of fatal crashes caused by aggressive and careless driving.
Forbes looked at various confrontational behaviors among drivers, including being forced off the road, cut off on purpose, or insulted. The study also found that trucks were the vehicles most commonly associated with road rage, with minivans being the least aggressive.
To combat aggressive driving, the Health & Safety Institute recommends defensive driving techniques such as maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles, staying aware of your surroundings, and being prepared for unexpected situations on the road. Following these rules can help drivers stay safe and avoid confrontations with aggressive drivers.
