Louisiana Representative pushes for tax reform and infrastructure improvements in Louisiana Politics

House Speaker Philip DeVillier’s political action committee, Foundation PAC, raised $67,500 in just over two months at the end of 2023, according to Louisiana Ethics Board records. The committee recently released a video highlighting insurance policy changes signed into law, aiming to make insurance more affordable and attract investment from insurance companies in Louisiana.

In the video, Rep. Jack McFarland, R-Winnfield, chair of the House Appropriation Committee, expressed that insurance in Louisiana is overregulated, over-litigated, and overpriced. DeVillier, a close ally of Republican Gov. Jeff Landry, plans to use the PAC to promote his priorities and vision for advancing Louisiana. These priorities include infrastructure, tax reform, and attracting new businesses to the state.

DeVillier stated that he will work with members, the Department of Revenue, the Governor’s Office, and the Senate president to bring tax reform to the state during next year’s fiscal session. He aims to create opportunities for job growth and provide economic opportunities for the people of Louisiana. The Foundation PAC’s website serves as a blueprint for the next decade in Louisiana, with future social media content planned on education and criminal justice policy changes.

DeVillier emphasized the importance of using Foundation PAC to spread his message and bring about positive changes for the state. The committee’s efforts are focused on promoting progress and growth in Louisiana’s economy.
