The Patio Tex Mex Fusion, a new Tex-Mex restaurant with Asian-inspired dishes, has soft opened in Baton Rouge with plans for a grand opening in August. Owned and operated by Ton Suansawang, the restaurant is the first Tex-Mex concept for the group, which also owns Geisha Sushi and Umami Japanese Bistro. The menu includes options like tuna tostada with Japanese influences, a lettuce wrap with Thai flavors, and Louisiana shrimp and crawfish. The chef’s special, birria tacos, will become a permanent menu item after the grand opening. The restaurant offers dine-in, take-out, and catering services, as well as a bar with a selection of drinks. Located at 7655 Old Hammond Hwy., Baton Rouge, The Patio Tex Mex Fusion operates from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, with the last seating 30 minutes before closing. Suansawang stated that the location and its owner chose them, presenting an opportunity for expansion.
