The 30th edition of the Sziget Festival has kicked off today in Budapest, attracting hundreds of nationalities to the Óbuda Island for a week of music and celebration. This year’s theme, “Love is Love”, sets the tone for over 1,000 shows across more than 50 stages. The diverse line-up includes artists like Kylie Minogue, Halsey, Liam Gallagher, Martin Garrix, and Skrillex, with the Hungarian folk-pop band Margaret Island opening for Minogue, who will be tonight’s closing act. The festival, known as the Island of Freedom for the week, is expected to draw over 100 nationalities to enjoy six days of music and culture.
