Vice President Kamala Harris recently concluded a multi-day battleground state tour and will be attending a high-profile fundraiser in San Francisco to attract West Coast donors. Despite some donors withdrawing their support for President Joe Biden following a poor debate performance, the event is expected to raise over $12 million for the campaign. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a long-time representative of San Francisco, will also be present at the event to show support for Harris. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Harris’ running mate, will not be attending the fundraiser as the focus is on Harris and her ties to California. Harris and Walz recently campaigned together in Las Vegas before Walz returned to Minnesota for the weekend. Pelosi’s appearance at the fundraiser indicates a major shift in her support from Biden to Harris, as she played a critical role behind the scenes urging Biden to drop out of the 2024 race for the sake of the Democratic Party. Pelosi expressed concerns about Biden’s political operation and his chances of winning, leading to her endorsement of Harris. She emphasized the importance of making sure that Donald Trump never becomes president again. Pelosi has not spoken with Biden since his decision to step aside.
