The Louisiana Black Bear Hunting Lottery will open on August 29 for state hunters, with applications available on the LDWF website. The hunt will be limited to Bear Management Area 4 and will take place from December 7 to December 22, 2024. A total of 10 permits will be issued, with a $50 non-refundable application fee for each applicant. Successful applicants must attend a bear hunter training course before hunting. In order to hunt in LDWF WMAs, hunters must have a WMA Access Permit or specific hunting licenses. For more information on licenses and permits, visit the LDWF website. To purchase a Louisiana hunting license, visit the website as well.
