Arthur Nathaniel Booth, a burglary suspect who gained attention in 2015 for breaking down in tears in court when the judge recognized him as a former classmate, has been arrested again for a series of crimes in Miami. Police say Booth posed as a water inspector and a plumber to gain access to victims’ homes, stealing jewelry and gold chains before fleeing the scene. One victim, an 85-year-old man, was targeted when Booth asked for help opening a faucet and then snatched his gold chain. Booth has been connected to several incidents and police believe he may be involved in more crimes.
Nearly a decade ago, Booth appeared in front of Judge Mindy Glazer for a burglary and police pursuit case, where she recognized him from middle school and offered words of encouragement. Glazer expressed remorse at seeing Booth in court, reflecting on his past as a well-liked student and urging him to change his ways and lead a lawful life. Booth has now been charged with robbery, burglary, home invasion, and other offenses related to his recent crimes. No attorney information was available for him. Police emphasize the need to keep individuals like Booth behind bars, given his continued criminal behavior.
