Video captures students in Texas begging bus driver to keep windows open during hot weather

A Texas school bus driver is accused of punishing students by driving slowly on a hot day, forcing them to put up windows on an un-air-conditioned bus. The incident occurred in Sealy, Texas where temperatures were near triple digits. Attorney Harry Daniels, representing a parent of two students on the bus, stated that at least 30 students were affected. The driver had a fan for herself, but the bus had no air circulation. The school district declined to provide details about the driver’s status but denied that she was deliberately driving slowly to punish the students. A video provided by Daniels showed students complaining about the heat and the driver forcing them to put up the windows. The driver also stopped the bus to have a student who had his head out the window put his window up. The superintendent of the district stated that they take the concerns seriously and have made adjustments to the bus route to reduce time on dirt roads. The incident has not been investigated by district police or municipal police as it falls outside their jurisdiction. One of the students on the bus had asthma and was recorded entering her home exclaiming relief at finally feeling the air. The superintendent mentioned that the district has received reports of air conditioning issues on buses and that adjustments have been made to address the problem.
