SLU to play against South Alabama at Home


The Southeastern Louisiana University women’s soccer team will face off against South Alabama on Sunday at 1 p.m. in their last non-conference match at Strawberry Stadium. The match will be televised on ESPN+ and live stats can be accessed on the team’s website.

After a season-opening tie with Grambling State, the Lady Lions are seeking their first win of the season before heading into conference play. South Alabama secured their first win with a 2-0 victory over Louisiana Tech after falling to LSU in their opening week.

Junior Emma Ramsey led Southeastern with four shots on goal in their last match, while South Alabama’s Irene Campo scored one of the goals in their win over Louisiana Tech. Goalkeepers Kendall Curan and Anna Blakenship for Southeastern and Allison Luckhardt for South Alabama will be key players to watch in Sunday’s match.

Fans are encouraged to stay after the game for post-game autographs with the Lady Lions. Southeastern will continue their season in Jackson, Miss. on Friday, August 30 against Jackson State.

Supporters of the women’s soccer program can join the Score One More Club to help fund the team’s expenses. Lion alums can also join the exclusive S Club for Southeastern athletic letter winners. More information on membership can be found on the Lion Athletics Association website.
