Southeastern suffers a narrow 2-1 loss at home

The Southeastern Louisiana University women’s soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss against South Alabama at Strawberry Stadium. Senior Nicole O’Neill scored the first goal for the Lady Lions with an assist from Rylee Franklin, but South Alabama quickly responded with two goals to take the lead. Despite close shots from Kelsey Fuller and Franklin, Southeastern could not find the back of the net again. Goalkeeper Anna Blakenship made four saves for the Lady Lions.

South Alabama’s Irene Campo and Monique Gray scored the goals for their team, securing the victory in the first half. The Jaguars maintained their lead in the second half, working the clock and preventing Southeastern from equalizing. South Alabama goalkeeper Allsion Luckhardt made three saves to secure the win.

Despite the loss, Southeastern showed determination and will look to bounce back in their upcoming away game against Jackson State. Fans are encouraged to join the Score One More Club to support the women’s soccer program, with membership fees and donations used exclusively for the team.
