Former New York Gov. David Paterson and his stepson were attacked while on a walk in Manhattan by assailants who had a previous interaction with the stepson. Paterson, 70, and his stepson both went to a hospital as a precaution. The attackers were fought off, and both Paterson and his stepson suffered some injuries. Paterson served as governor from 2008 to 2010 after taking over from Eliot Spitzer. A police report has been filed and both Paterson and the other man involved are in stable condition. The attack is under investigation and no arrests have been made.
