Two blue-throated macaws, Lily and Margot, escaped from London Zoo but were safely captured after being found 60 miles away from their home. The parrots flew away on October 21 while flying freely as part of their daily routine at the zoo. They were discovered six days later by a family in Buckden, Cambridgeshire, who spotted them in the trees behind their garden. The pair was eventually tracked down to a field and public footpath in Brampton, where they were safely captured by zoo experts. Lily and Margot are reported to be in good condition and are currently in quarantine at the on-site animal hospital. After they complete their quarantine, they will be reunited with their parents Popeye and Ollie at the zoo. The incident ended happily with the safe return of the escaped parrots, thanks to the efforts of the zoo staff and the family who found them. The story of these adventurous parrots on the run and their successful capture has captured the attention of animal lovers everywhere.
