The 2024 State Fair of Louisiana has officially kicked off in Shreveport, attracting hundreds of people on its first day. This year, the fair is operating with a new carnival ride operator and implementing new security measures to ensure the safety of attendees and their families. One notable change is a mandatory clear bag policy, with only clear bags allowed on the fairgrounds. There is also a heavy law enforcement presence from various agencies, as well as mandatory security screenings with metal detectors for all attendees. Additionally, minors must be accompanied by an adult after 6 p.m. and there are dozens of new cameras and monitoring devices throughout the fairgrounds. The fair will feature a variety of entertainment including circus acts, dog shows, magic shows, carnival rides, and delicious food. Visitors will have more than two weeks to enjoy all that the fair has to offer. So, grab your clear bag and head to the Louisiana State Fair Grounds for a fun-filled experience for the whole family!
