LSU Football Recruit JT Lindsey, Louisiana’s No. 2 RB, Ends Recruitment

Alexandria High School’s star running back, JT Lindsey, made headlines by committing to the LSU Tigers on April 13. Lindsey, who is ranked as the No. 2 running back in Louisiana and a Top 10 back in the nation, received an offer from LSU and quickly pledged to the program. Despite LSU already having a commitment from the No. 1 running back in the country, Harlem Berry, their goal was to secure both talents.

After an impressive senior season, Lindsey’s stock rose, making him one of the top running backs in the 2025 recruiting class. He decided to stick with LSU and confirmed that he will not be taking any visits to other schools. With his commitment, LSU solidified their future at the running back position, having both Berry and Lindsey on board.

In a similar fashion, Missouri City cornerback Kade Phillips flipped his commitment from Texas to LSU in August and reached five-star status after a standout senior campaign. Like Lindsey, Phillips also shut down his recruitment and plans to sign with LSU during the Early Signing Period.

Both recruits’ decisions come at a crucial time for the LSU program, which recently faced the loss of a five-star quarterback commitment. Despite pressure from other schools, including Texas, Phillips remained loyal to LSU. With his exceptional physical traits and versatility, Phillips is a valuable addition to LSU’s roster.

The commitments of Lindsey and Phillips are significant wins for LSU and head coach Brian Kelly as they continue to secure top talent for the future.
