The 22-year-old man, an employee of NZ Power Wash, was using a pole to string up the lights when it came into contact with an electrical line on a utility pole nearby. He collapsed and was found in cardiac arrest, but police were able to revive him using an automated external defibrillator. He was then taken to the hospital, where he is recovering.
The incident occurred around 10 a.m. on Falmouth Circle, and the man was rushed to Newton Wellesley Hospital before being transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital. OSHA, along with local authorities, is investigating the accident to determine what went wrong. The victim’s coworker, who witnessed the event, declined to comment on the situation.
The Wellesley Police, Fire, and WMLP Departments sent their thoughts and prayers to the victim and his family during this tragic event. The man’s condition was initially life-threatening, but he is now recovering in the hospital.
