Louisiana Lights, a new holiday light show, has arrived at the Windrush Gardens behind the LSU Rural Life Museum in Baton Rouge. With over 400,000 twinkling bulbs illuminating the 100-year-old garden, visitors can experience the history and beauty of the property in a unique way. The lighting displays, with names like “Oscillating Orchard,” are inspired by the garden’s rich history and highlight the Burden family’s former buildings on the site.
Bill Stark, Director of the LSU Rural Life Museum, spearheaded this project which was three years in the making. Careful planning was done to ensure that the historic gardens were not damaged during the installation of the lights. Tickets are priced at $20 per person with parking available for $10 per car, and all proceeds will support the upkeep of the gardens and historic buildings. Themed nights are also planned for the upcoming weeks. Visit the website for tickets and more information.
