Children’s book brought to life by Tyler’s illustrations

Author Cathy Mounce of Tyler recently released a children’s book titled “Pancake, the Texas Cat” that has been 30 years in the making. The book tells the true story of Mounce’s beloved pet and encourages readers to be themselves. The 36-page paperback, suitable for children aged 2 to 10, is available on Amazon for $15.95 or as a Kindle e-Book for $9.99. Mounce, a native Texan, has a background in writing, photography, and illustration. She will be holding a book signing event on December 12 at the Rose City Art Gallery in Tyler. Mounce’s upbringing, surrounded by creativity and storytelling, has inspired her to create this heartwarming tale that celebrates individuality and the joy of being oneself. “Pancake, the Texas Cat” is a rhyming story that highlights the importance of making a difference in the lives of others, no matter how small.
