Author Cathy Mounce of Tyler recently released a children’s book titled “Pancake, the Texas Cat” that has been 30 years in the making. The book tells the true story of Mounce’s beloved pet and encourages readers to be themselves. The 36-page paperback, suitable for children aged 2 to 10, is available on Amazon for $15.95 or as a Kindle e-Book for $9.99. Mounce, a native Texan, has a background in writing, photography, and illustration. She will be holding a book signing event on December 12 at the Rose City Art Gallery in Tyler.
