In an epic game between No. 6 Georgia and Georgia Tech, the Bulldogs pulled off an incredible comeback to win 44-42 in the eighth overtime. Freshman Nate Frazier ran for a 2-point conversion to secure the victory after Georgia Tech had dominated most of the game. Despite falling behind 17-0 at halftime, Georgia may have secured a spot in the College Football Playoff with the win. Carson Beck threw five touchdown passes, two of them in overtime, in a game that set records for the longest in SEC history and nearly the longest in FBS history. Georgia Tech, led by quarterback Haynes King, took a 27-13 lead late in the game, but the Bulldogs mounted a late comeback to force overtime. In the end, both teams traded matching touchdown passes and 2-point conversions for several overtimes before Frazier’s game-winning conversion. The victory marked Georgia’s seventh straight win over Georgia Tech in a game that lasted well past midnight. The win solidified Georgia’s playoff hopes and set the stage for an exciting finish to the season.
