Louisiana high school football teams battled it out in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs on Friday night, with some exciting matchups resulting in victories and advancing teams to the next round. In Division I, Alexandria beat C.E. Byrd 43-32, John Curtis Christian defeated Teurlings Catholic 31-10, Edna Karr triumphed over St. Thomas More 42-14, and Catholic (Baton Rouge) came out on top against Archbishop Rummel 14-7.
In other divisions, E.D. White beat Vandebilt Catholic 23-18 in Division II, while Ouachita Christian defeated Covenant Christian Academy 30-14 in Division IV. Central (Baton Rouge) emerged victorious over West Monroe 21-7 in the non-select Division I quarterfinals.
