Justice Bus from Lagniappe Law Lab hosted by Louisiana Bar Foundation in pop up event

The Louisiana Bar Foundation and Lagniappe Law Lab have joined forces to introduce the Justice Bus, a mobile legal resource center that will travel statewide providing free legal information. The bus made a stop in downtown Monroe on Thursday, December 5, offering access to legal videos, brochures, and information articles. The focus of the bus during 2024-2025 will be on children’s legal services and rural areas, with the goal of reaching communities that have limited access to legal resources. The bus is equipped with internet access, computers, and the ability to make referrals to help bridge the gap in legal awareness and accessibility. The foundation funds free civil legal aid organizations to help address the affordability issue, but also aims to raise awareness about these services through the Justice Bus. The bus will visit areas more than a 45-minute drive away from civil legal resources to help bring legal information and resources directly to those in need. More information about the Justice Bus can be found on Lagniappe Law Lab’s Facebook page.
