SHREVEPORT, La. – As Election Day approaches in Louisiana, there are concerns about low voter turnout due to a light ballot and the holiday week. Early voting numbers were also low, with only 3.5 percent of the state’s registered voters casting their ballots early.
On the ballot, voters will have the opportunity to decide on four constitutional amendments, including issues related to judicial discipline, budget approval wait time, and local property tax debt. Additionally, there are several municipal propositions and runoff races in various parishes across the state.
On Election Day, polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m., and voters are encouraged to check their voting locations at GeauxVote.org. For live election results, residents can tune in to KTBS 3 News on-air and online on Saturday night.
Despite the challenges, it is important for all eligible voters to participate in the democratic process and make their voices heard on November 6th.
