SHREVEPORT, La. – The upcoming election day in Louisiana is anticipated to have a low turnout due to a light ballot and the Thanksgiving holiday week. Early voting saw only 3.5% of the state’s registered voters, with 107,523 ballots cast. On the ballot are four constitutional amendments addressing issues such as judicial discipline, budget approval, and property tax debt. Additionally, there are several propositions and runoff races in different parishes including Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Claiborne, Bienville, DeSoto, Natchitoches, and Sabine.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and voters are encouraged to check their voting locations at GeauxVote.org. Results will be updated and announced by KTBS 3 News on-air and online as they come in on Saturday night. Despite the low turnout expectations, every vote counts in shaping the future of these regions, and residents are urged to make their voices heard at the polls. Let’s see what the election day brings for Louisiana.
