Harlem Berry, a student-athlete from St. Martin’s Episcopal School, has been named the 2024-25 Gatorade Louisiana Football Player of the Year, marking the first time a player from his school has received this prestigious honor. The Gatorade Player of the Year award recognizes high school athletes who excel not only on the field but also in the classroom and community. Berry, a senior running back and free safety, showcased his talent by rushing for 2,178 yards and 41 touchdowns in the past season, leading his team to the second round of the Division IV Select State Tournament.

Aside from his exceptional athletic ability, Berry is also involved in community service initiatives and has maintained a B average in the classroom. He has committed to playing football at Louisiana State University next fall. The Gatorade Player of the Year program recognizes outstanding high school athletes across various sports and aims to support social impact initiatives through grants to winners.
