A LaPlace man was arrested after an 11-year-old student at a Louisiana school reportedly handed out THC gummies to classmates. According to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place at a local middle school. The child who distributed the gummies was found to have received them from a family member who lived with the suspect, identified as 49-year-old Julian Boudreaux. The gummies contained THC, the psychoactive component of marijuana.
Boudreaux was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule I controlled dangerous substance and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. The sheriff’s office confirmed that no children were harmed as a result of consuming the gummies, and the incident is under investigation. This case serves as a reminder for parents to be vigilant about keeping marijuana products away from children, as they can pose serious health risks. Boudreaux is currently being held at the St. John the Baptist Parish jail, pending further legal proceedings.
