Louisiana Tech recently kicked off their sport portion of the schedule at the Sea Best Invitational in Atlantic Beach, Florida. The team ended the day in ninth place after shooting 291 and 295 in the first two rounds, finishing at 18 over par with one round left to play.
Gray Kingrea made an impressive return to the team with a bogey-free round one, shooting a season-low 69. Oskari Schuvalow led the team after the first 18 holes, shooting Even with three early birdies. Niilo Maki-Petaja and Freddie Surgey also contributed solid scores in round one, with Morton Bailey rounding out the team score with a 76.
In round two, Maki-Petaja was the lone Bulldog to shoot under par, finishing Even for the tournament. Schuvalow continued his success with a one-over round, while Bailey and Surgey both carded 76 to add to the team total.
Texas A&M currently leads the tournament at 19 under. Kingrea will be the first to tee off for Louisiana Tech in the final round tomorrow at 7 a.m.
