After decades of influencing policy at the Louisiana State Capitol, two advocacy groups, the Council for A Better Louisiana and The Committee of 100 for Economic Development, have officially merged to form the nonpartisan Leaders for a Better Louisiana. The new organization will focus on economic development and education initiatives, aiming to champion economic growth and increased opportunities for all citizens.
The combination allows the new organization to build on the work of the two groups independently and strengthen advocacy efforts. The merger brings together the business leadership of C100 with CABL’s commitment to education and policy advocacy. Key programs, such as CABL’s Leadership Louisiana training program, will continue under the Leaders for a Better Louisiana umbrella.
Co-chaired by Heather Poole and Dr. Phillip Rozeman, Leaders for a Better Louisiana will be led by CEO Adam Knapp, who emphasizes the need for change and new approaches to solve the state’s challenges. The merger comes after years of collaboration between CABL and Committee of 100, with joint efforts on tax policy, education, workforce development, and infrastructure.
With a history of advocating for economic growth and policy reform, the new organization is poised to continue making an impact at the state level. By bringing together the expertise and resources of two influential groups, Leaders for a Better Louisiana is well-positioned to shape a future for Louisiana defined by opportunity, innovation, and excellence.
