The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs faced a tough road loss against Liberty, falling 77-53 at Liberty Arena. The Bulldogs struggled on offense and never held the lead in the game, suffering their fifth consecutive loss away from home. Despite a late offensive surge led by Al Green and Sean Elkinton off the bench, Liberty’s strong runs put the game out of reach for Louisiana Tech. Green led the Bulldogs with 18 points, while Elkinton added 11. Liberty shot 50% from the field and 52.2% from beyond the arc, with Taelon Peter leading with 16 points.
Head coach Talvin Hester acknowledged the team’s inconsistency in following the scouting report and credited Liberty’s ability to capitalize on their mistakes. The loss tied the series between LA Tech and Liberty at 2-2, with the home team winning all four matchups. This marked the second fewest points scored by LA Tech this season, with Green leading in scoring for the third time. Sean Newman Jr. recorded six assists, becoming the fourth Bulldog in history to reach 200 assists in a single season.
Despite the loss, LA Tech looks ahead to their next game against FIU on February 8. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. CT on ESPN+. For more updates on Bulldog Basketball, fans can follow them on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
