Reporter from Kansas City dies while reporting on Super Bowl in New Orleans

27-year-old Adan Manzano, a sports reporter from Kansas City, has passed away in Kenner. He was in the city covering the Super Bowl for Telemundo Kansas City and Tico Sports. Described as a “true professional” and rising star, Manzano had a passion for sports that showed in his work. Steve Downing, General Manager at Telemundo, praised Manzano’s enthusiasm and dedication, stating that he was well-loved by the sports teams he covered.

His sudden death has deeply impacted the tight-knit newsroom at Telemundo KC, with colleagues mourning the loss of a family member. The Kenner Police Department is conducting an investigation into his death after first responders were called to the scene by hotel staff. No cause of death has been announced, and there are no signs of trauma.

Tragically, Manzano’s wife died in a car accident earlier in the year, leaving behind a 2-year-old daughter. The station plans to honor his memory in upcoming newscasts, focusing on the positive impact he had on the team.
