A Louisiana woman is in custody after being arrested in connection with the death of a TV reporter who was in town for the Super Bowl. Danette Colbert, who has a history of drugging men and stealing their credit cards, was seen on hotel security footage entering the reporter’s room at 4:35 a.m. on Wednesday, according to Kenner police chief Keith Conley.
After the reporter, Adan Manzano, was found dead, detectives discovered that his credit card was missing and had been used at several stores in the area. Colbert has been charged with property crimes including fraud and theft-related offenses, but the investigation is ongoing.
It is unknown at this time how Manzano died, as the coroner’s findings are pending. Colbert has a history of financial crimes and has been linked to similar incidents in the past in Nevada and Jefferson Parish.
Kenner police are asking for anyone with information about Colbert’s involvement in these crimes to come forward. This is a developing story and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
