Technology Day on the Hill hosted by Rogers State University | News

Rogers State University in Claremore, Oklahoma recently held its Technology Day on the Hill to showcase their technology and justice programs to prospective students in the northeast Oklahoma area. The event featured activities such as unmanned aerial systems, cybersecurity, forensics investigations, artificial intelligence, and game design.

Dr. Curt Sparling, department head of technology studies and justice studies at RSU, emphasized the importance of allowing students to interact with current students in these fields to see what they can achieve in the future. The event aimed to dispel the misconception that STEM fields are difficult to pursue, and to show that anyone can succeed in technology and computer science programs.

Prospective students were given the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities such as earning their FAA trust certificate, learning how to fly drones, coding, and fingerprinting. The event also provided a platform for students to learn more about the degree programs offered at RSU and the potential career opportunities available in the field of technology and justice studies.
