ULM Softball Achieves Sweeping Victory at UNA Tournament
The University of Louisiana Monroe softball team enjoyed a successful second day at the UNA Tournament, clinching wins over Detroit Mercy and Samford. In the opening game against Detroit Mercy, ULM dominated with a 13-0 victory in five innings. The Warhawks showcased their offensive prowess with a total of nine runs scored in the second inning alone, securing an early lead that Detroit Mercy could not overcome.
In their second game against Samford, ULM faced a tougher challenge but managed to secure a 9-8 win. The Warhawks showed resilience as they held off a late comeback attempt from Samford to secure the victory. Standout performances included Morgan Brown’s two home runs and strong pitching efforts from Victoria Abrams.
With these wins, ULM improves their overall record to 17-10 for the season. The softball team will continue their tournament play against North Alabama and Detroit Mercy. Fans can catch the Warhawks in action on Sunday, March 9th at 10 a.m. as they face off against Detroit Mercy for a rematch.
