The Sam Houston men’s golf team is set to compete in the 40th annual Louisiana Classics tournament hosted by the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns at the Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette, La. The tournament, featuring 12 teams including tough competition from top-ranked schools like LSU and Texas A&M, will consist of 54 holes played over Monday and Tuesday.
The Bearkats have a history of strong performances in this event, finishing second last year with Hugo Trommetter and Gene Chaikangwai leading the team. This year, they are looking to build on their success with a strong lineup that includes Bret Gray and Josh German.
Live scoring will be available via Scoreboard by Clippd, with updates throughout the round and final results streamed on ESPN+. The course presents challenges with water hazards near the greens and sand-protected raised greens, adding to the competitive nature of the tournament.
Overall, the Bearkats are poised to make a strong showing at the Louisiana Classics and showcase their talent against tough competition.
