New Orleans Delighted by Barkus Parade Featuring Dogs Post-Mardi Gras

New Orleans celebrates Barkus parade with dogs in costumes after Mardi Gras. The event was postponed due to weather conditions but was finally held on Sunday in the French Quarter. Dog owners and parade goers enjoyed seeing different breeds in costumes and were pleased with the festive atmosphere. Some dogs were scared by the loud noises from the bands, but overall, everyone had a good time. Despite some feeling it was odd to have the parade after Mardi Gras, the community was happy to have an opportunity to celebrate with their furry friends. The event brought joy to both dogs and humans, with treats and belly rubs for all. Whether it’s Carnival season or Lent, New Orleans residents will always find a reason to celebrate with their beloved pets.
