Technip Energies Awarded Major Contract for World’s Largest Low-Carbon Ammonia Plant

Technip Energies has been awarded a significant contract for the Blue Point Number One ATR Project in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. This project, a joint venture between CF Industries, JERA, and MITSUI & CO, aims to deliver the world’s largest low-carbon ammonia plant with a capacity of 1.4 million metric tons per year. Technip Energies will handle engineering, procurement, equipment, and module fabrication, utilizing its expertise in modularization and project delivery excellence.

In partnership with CF Industries, JERA, and Mitsui, the project will feature over 95% CO2 recovery, supporting the global demand for clean ammonia in energy and fuel sectors. The low-cost liquid energy vector produced will be used for traditional and new applications. This project marks a significant advancement for the ammonia industry, paving the way for low-carbon ammonia production at scale.

Arnaud Pieton, CEO of Technip Energies, expressed excitement about the project, emphasizing the company’s commitment to contributing to the decarbonization efforts globally. This project highlights Technip Energies’ capabilities in delivering large-scale facilities with state-of-the-art technologies.
