The Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2025 has expanded to 12 members, with the addition of retired football coach Nick Saban. Saban led LSU to a national championship in 2003 and has won numerous national titles during his coaching career. This year’s induction ceremony will take place on June 26-28 in Natchitoches. Saban joins other 2025 inductees who have close connections with him, such as Andrew Whitworth, Herb Vincent, Glenn Guilbeau, and the late Ed Daniels. In addition to Saban, this year’s inductees include basketball players Danny Granger and Vickie Johnson, baseball coach Joe Scheuermann, high school basketball coach Danny Broussard, gymnast April Burkholder, football coach Dale Weiner, and NCAA boxing champion George “Bobby” Soileau. The class represents a wide range of sports and accomplishments.
The Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame now has a total of 504 members since its founding in 1958. The induction ceremonies will include various events, such as a press conference, receptions, a youth sports clinic, and a riverbank concert in Natchitoches.
