Louisiana Tech’s golf team is gearing up for their final regular season tournament at the Aggie Invitational hosted by Texas A&M University this weekend. The event will take place on Saturday and Sunday at Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas, featuring 12 teams and 75 golfers competing in three rounds of stroke play.
The Bulldogs are coming off an 11th-place finish at the Marodie Intercollegiate, with Niilo Maki-Petaja claiming his third top 10 finish of the season. Maki-Petaja, from Helsinki, Finland, has been a consistent performer for Louisiana Tech this season and was recently named Conference USA Men’s Golfer of the Week after his strong showing at the Marodie Intercollegiate. He currently holds a national ranking of No. 186 and has recorded 20 rounds at or under par this season.
Joining Maki-Petaja in the lineup are Morton Bailey, Jake Plumb, Oskari Schuvalow, and Joel Thomas Stephens, with freshman Isaac Adams playing as an individual. The Bulldogs will be facing tough competition at the Aggie Invitational, including teams like Oklahoma, Baylor, and Texas A&M.
