Former LSU Wide Receiver Kyren Lacy Dies by Suicide Prior to Scheduled Court Appearance

Former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy, who was facing charges in connection with a deadly crash that killed a 78-year-old man, has died in a reported suicide. Lacy was scheduled to appear in court for the incident which occurred late last year where he was driving a vehicle that struck another car head-on, resulting in the death of Herman Hall. Louisiana State Police reported that Lacy was speeding, crossed the center line, and fled the scene after the collision. He was booked on charges of negligent homicide, hit-and-run, and reckless operation, and spent less than two hours in jail before his death. Lacy had a successful college football career and recently graduated from LSU, announcing his entry into the 2025 NFL Draft just days before the crash. He was expected to be picked in the draft and had accepted an invitation to play in the Senior Bowl. It is unclear at this time if he will still participate in the event.
