The LSUS women’s tennis team narrowly lost to Louisiana Christian University in the quarterfinal round of the Red River Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Championship. The Wildcats claimed the doubles point, but the Pilots fought back in singles matches with Pierina Lescher, Lidia Gomez, and Sara Sofia Sanchez securing victories. Despite their efforts, LSUS fell short in the deciding match, ending their season in the conference quarterfinals with an 8-5 overall record.
The match was tightly contested, with both teams showcasing their skills on the court. LSUS’s No. 2 duo Angela Basto and Maike Tiemersma earned a hard-fought victory in doubles play, while singles matches were a back-and-forth battle. Despite the loss, the Pilots can be proud of their performance throughout the season.
