Three fatalities in boat collision during Alabama fishing competition


Three people died in a boat crash on Lewis Smith Lake in Alabama during a fishing tournament. The crash occurred between a Nitro Bass Boat and a Center Console boat during the Tackle Warehouse Invitational organized by Major League Fishing. The victims were identified as Joey M. Broom, John K. Clark, and Jeffrey C. Little, all on the Center Console boat. Clark and Little were thrown overboard and drowned while Broom died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Officials from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency are actively investigating the incident. The tournament organizers have canceled the third and final day of the competition in light of the tragedy. Kathy Fennel, the MLF’s executive vice president and general manager, expressed deep concern and sympathy for those impacted by the accident.
