Driver of Jesus’ bus in Louisiana hailed as a hero after saving passengers from massive explosion


A bus in Shreveport, Louisiana caught fire and exploded, causing damage to nearby cars and businesses. The bus, with the words “Call on Jesus” on its side, was parked outside a Fresenius Kidney Care location when the incident occurred. The Shreveport Fire Department stated that the fire involved a SporTran bus, the city’s public transit system, with flames erupting from a compressed natural gas fuel tank. Fortunately, all passengers and the driver safely exited the bus, and no injuries were reported. The explosion led to secondary damage to nearby buildings, vehicles, and the pavement. It took 18 firefighters to control the flames. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Police and fire crews established a safety perimeter to keep people away from the scene. Both the fire department and SporTran have not provided additional comments on the incident. This event has left the community shocked and in need of further investigation to determine the cause of the explosion.
