Louisiana Tech Softball Players Earn All-Conference USA Honors

RUSTON, LA – Louisiana Tech’s softball program celebrated outstanding achievements as six players were recognized with All-Conference USA honors, as announced Tuesday. Among the accolades, Allie Floyd, Nicole Hammoude, and Reagan Marchant secured spots on the All-CUSA First Team.

This marks the Bulldogs’ second consecutive year of six all-conference selections, tying for the fourth most in program history. Floyd dominated the season as LA Tech’s ace, leading CUSA with 21 wins and 177 strikeouts, becoming the first Bulldog pitcher since 2011 to record over 150 strikeouts in a season. She logged three shutouts and achieved wins against top 25 teams, setting a new program record with 13 conference victories.

Hammoude had a breakout year, starting all 53 games and leading the Bulldogs with a .353 batting average while contributing significantly to the team’s offensive output with 42 RBIs and 29 walks. Marchant also excelled, hitting 17 home runs—matching a program record—and driving in 49 runs while maintaining impressive offensive statistics.

Alexis Gilio received second-team honors after a strong second half of the season, finishing as the team’s hit leader with 55, supported by 24 RBIs and a .318 batting average. Freshmen Elena Heng and Allie Furr were named to the All-Freshman Team, showcasing their potential with impressive performances throughout the season.

Head coach Josh Taylor expressed pride in the team’s accomplishments and highlighted the contributions from both seasoned players and newcomers. The Bulldogs’ achievements underline their growing prominence in collegiate softball, setting a foundation for future seasons.

The conference’s player and pitcher of the year awards went to Rachel Roupe and Elena Escobar of Liberty, respectively, alongside other notable accolades across the league.
