Twins Tackle Early Childhood Illiteracy with Fun Learning Tools
NEW ORLEANS — Dria and Blake Jackson, twin sisters and animators, are revolutionizing early education through their organization, Twinimation Studios. Passionate about making learning enjoyable, they have launched the “Kreativity Krewe” coloring book series, aimed at pre-K to third-grade students, to combat the alarming rates of early childhood illiteracy in Louisiana.
With animation degrees from the Savannah College of Art and Design, the Jackson sisters have designed their books to engage young children by blending reading and writing activities with vibrant illustrations. Each character—like snack-themed mice—introduces fun, story-based learning.
Citing Louisiana’s struggles with low literacy rates—ranking 46th in the nation—the sisters draw upon their personal experiences and connections within the educational community. They actively visit schools, incorporating anime-inspired presentations that allow students to explore animation software.
Their innovative approach combines entertainment with education, ensuring that parents and kids can enjoy learning together. As they prepare for summer workshops, the twins emphasize accessibility, offering courses at various price points and recommending free resources. For Dria and Blake, this endeavor goes beyond business; it’s a mission to inspire others to pursue their passions. Visit Twinimation Studios for more resources and upcoming events.
