Calvin Walker Adheres to Court Monitoring Requirements

Former BISD Electrician Actively Job Hunting Amid Legal Troubles

BEAUMONT, Texas — Calvin Walker, the former BISD electrician currently appealing a 9.5-year prison sentence for probation violations linked to a $1.17 million fraud case, is reportedly seeking employment while under strict supervision. A court memo obtained recently reveals that Walker has applied for over 40 jobs and confirmed 24 job searches and visits. Despite his legal challenges, he is actively pursuing contracts within a court-approved travel zone that spans Jefferson County, Orange County, and parts of Louisiana.

Walker, required to wear a court-ordered GPS monitor, submits a personal budget and reports bi-weekly to his Community Supervision Officer, Denise Hunter. Walker’s job earnings will be directed toward repaying the Beaumont Independent School District, as emphasized by Judge John Stevens during a court hearing on May 22.

Additionally, Walker’s legal team is preparing for a status review hearing scheduled for June 26, 2025, where related cases will also be discussed. The court’s focus remains on ensuring restitution for BISD amidst ongoing legal proceedings.
