Tragic Collision Claims Lives of Two Children in Schriever
MCBRIDE, La. — A heartbreaking accident in Schriever on Thursday evening has left two young children dead. Louisiana State Police reported that the crash occurred around 4 p.m. on Highway 311 near Fellowship Lane.
Investigators revealed that a woman driving a Toyota was heading south on LA Highway 311, while a Kenworth truck was traveling north. As the Toyota attempted to turn left into a driveway, it entered the path of the oncoming truck and was struck on the right side. Fortunately, the driver of the Kenworth was unharmed.
The four occupants of the Toyota were rushed to a local hospital, where the consequences of the crash became devastating. While the driver suffered minor injuries and another minor sustained moderate injuries, the two children—ages 12 and 6—sustained severe injuries and ultimately succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
