Power Outages Affect Nearly 3,000 Customers in New Orleans Area
NEW ORLEANS — On Friday evening, scattered showers led to power outages impacting nearly 3,000 customers across Orleans and Jefferson parishes. At the peak, 3,079 customers were without electricity, with reports indicating the outage began around 6:46 p.m.
According to Entergy New Orleans, approximately 2,800 customers remain affected, with utility crews assessing the situation to restore service safely and efficiently. The cause of the outage is currently under investigation.
In Orleans Parish, 2,866 customers were reported without power, while Jefferson Parish had 214 affected, as indicated on Entergy’s outage map.
Entergy forecasts that power will be restored by 8:30 p.m. as crews continue their efforts to address the situation. Residents are advised to check Entergy’s outage map for updates.
