Kynzee Anderson Named Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year
Shreveport, La. – Kynzee Anderson, a standout junior right-handed pitcher from Calvary Baptist Academy, has been honored as the Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year, showcasing her exceptional skill both on and off the field.
Anderson, who is committed to the University of Georgia, ended her junior season with an outstanding 24-1 record, a 1.26 earned run average, and a staggering 245 strikeouts in 145 innings. Offensively, she batted .466, hit 14 home runs, and recorded 45 RBIs, achieving a remarkable 1.034 slugging percentage. In her final game of the season, Anderson threw a five-inning no-hitter, leading the Lady Cavs to a 12-0 victory over D’Arbonne Woods and securing their fifth consecutive Division III Select state championship. The team finished the season with a 37-1 record.
"Kynzee is definitely the heart of their team," said D’Arbonne Woods coach David DeMoss. "Her pitching is fiercely competitive, with a combination of speed and a devastating off-speed pitch that few can handle."
However, Anderson’s excellence extends beyond the diamond. She maintains a 4.0 GPA and engages in community service, including volunteering at a local nursing home and coaching youth softball.
As the top-ranked pitching recruit in the Class of 2026 according to Line Drive Media, Anderson looks ahead to potentially securing another state title and possibly repeating as the Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year.
This prestigious honor not only celebrates her athletic achievements but also her commitment to academic excellence and community involvement. With her sights set high, Anderson continues to make waves in the world of high school softball.
