Calvary Baptist’s Kynzee Anderson Crowned Louisiana Miss Softball
By Roy Lang III for LSWA
Kynzee Anderson has made history as the first athlete from Calvary Baptist Academy to earn the Louisiana Farm Bureau Insurance Miss Softball honor from the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. The 2025 season saw the standout junior dominate on the mound and at the plate, finishing with a remarkable 24-1 record, a 1.26 ERA, and an impressive 245 strikeouts in just 145 innings pitched. Her stellar performance in the Select Division III state championship, capped by a no-hitter in the title game, further solidified her status as a top player.
Anderson, a University of Georgia commit capable of hitting 68 mph, embraced a new role this season, becoming a full-time hitter, which contributed to her success and enjoyment of the game. She boasted a .466 batting average, along with 14 home runs and 45 RBIs. "She’s proven she can do both," said head coach Tiffany Wood, highlighting Anderson’s extraordinary talent.
Beyond her Miss Softball accolade, Anderson was also recognized as the Louisiana Gatorade Softball Player of the Year and named the Outstanding Player on the Class 2A All-State softball team. Remarkably, just before the state championship game, concerns arose regarding her back injury, casting doubt on her participation. "I was overwhelmed. I never thought it was going to happen," Anderson shared.
Her performance resonated deeply with her team, especially as they dedicated their season to late teammate Elana Franks. “We did it for her," Anderson stated, underscoring the emotional weight of their journey. Anderson’s multifaceted contributions made her an invaluable asset to her team and the driving force behind their championship success.
